What’s It Like To Be You?
Above this false view
Nothing unclear
Free of the fear
Of believing in things that do not exist
And following dreams that aim to persist
In keeping the lies of the world intact
Binding us into an unholy pact
That we have created, You say, unalarmed
We have desired, craving the harm
Attack lives to levy, remorseless delight
Leaving all others perceived without Light
To fend for themselves, inside our false hopes
Delivering justice, we think we can cope
With the guilt we project onto all we discover
Designed to protect, not to uncover
The false, and we fail, under the pressure
Begging forgiveness, please save us forever
From all the dark phantoms who gather outside
Waiting to strike, to kill us with pride
Until darkness encroaches, leaving us numb
To all we believed, we finally succumb
A glimmer of light caught out of time
Focused, a laser, straight into the mind
Lifting us out of our terrible plight
Thinking subsided, innocence gained
Guilty gone free, we’ve left the insane
World to recover its truth in full glory
Union with You, an end to the story
Where all that was grim, depleted and lacking
Vanishes. Gone, now we’re unpacking
Layers of color, lines intersecting
Symmetry, patterns and shapes, unaffecting
We climb off the ladder into clear space
Nothing but Joy emanates from this place
That’s what it’s like to give up the game
To surrender the rules, the concepts, your name
Shake loose the tethers that held you in prison
Forget all the forms, the questions, decisions
Look for your body, your limbs and your face
Stunning, the light, now taking their place
Eternal, forever, the view from inside
Formless and free, everlasting. Alive.
